CARE & MAINTENANCE

Tatami mat:
All tatami mats should be kept dry to prevent mold. We recommend that you only wipe your tatami with a slightly damp cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents or vacuum along the weave of the tatami. Going against the weave can damage the tatami or push dirt into it. When vacuuming, make sure to select the lowest setting.

Tatami mats are sensitive to moisture, make sure there is some circulation, above or below. We recommend cleaning and airing the tatami occasionally. Dry and sunny days are best to air the tatami mats.

Dust:
Our linen fabric is a mix of 75% cotton and 25% linen. Linen is a natural raw material that needs special care. Linen does not tolerate water. If your linen-covered futon gets wet, stains may occur. Therefore, make sure not to clean with water. Use a non-dyed cloth to dry the area by dabbing the wet stain.
